Rice Street Festival Princess
     Christa Niznik

Sponsored by:  Ace Auto Parts

Christa is 22 years old and recently graduated from the  University of St. Thomas where she double majored in Communication Studies and Public Relations. Christa is originally from Fridley, Minnesota and was crowned Miss Fridley 2006-2007. She is currently feverishly looking for a job.

When not busy being a Rice Street Princess, Christa enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Twins, scrap booking, being with her family and friends, tearing it up on the dance floor, and eating peanut butter fudge ice cream.

"I am so thankful to the Rice Street Festival and my sponsor Ace Auto Parts for blessing me with this experience. I have made countless friends through our many appearances and have enjoyed every minute of my reign. This wouldn't be the same without Princess Alesha and Queen Maddie. I don't think there could be three girls so individually different who could have become such a dynamic, inseparable trio. I can't wait to experience 100 years of Rice Street at the end of July!"

Rice Street Festival Queen
      Madalyn Dosch

Sponsored by:  Rice Street Family Dental

Maddie is a 2008 graduate of the University of St. Thomas where she majored in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management.  She is currently employed as a recruiter in the Twin Cities.  Although Maddie now calls St. Paul home, she hails from Osceola, Wisconsin where she served as Miss Osceola 2003-2004.  It was during her year as Miss Osceola that she first became acquainted with the Rice Street Festival.  Needless to say, it has been a goal of hers to get involved with the Rice Street Festival ever since.

When Maddie isn’t working or being a queen she enjoys spending her extra time volunteering at her church and exploring all the great experiences the city of St. Paul has to offer.   She is an avid coffee drinker, loves live music, days on the lake (ice fishing in the winter and water sports in the summer) and spending time with her wonderful family, friends, and her pug Prince.

“It is an absolute honor to represent my sponsor, Rice Street Family Dental and the entire North End Community as Miss Rice Street 2009-2010.  I love the city of St. Paul with all of my heart.  The amazing people, rich culture, and wonderful opportunities in this community have blessed my life so abundantly.  St. Paul has afforded me so many life changing opportunities and I hope to be able to give back to a community that has given me so much for many years to come.   Along side my lovely Princesses, Alesha & Christa, I am so excited to celebrate the 100th year of this wonderful community festival!”
